The first stop of 2012 WAKE DANS’ RUE took place on June 16th in Drummondville, QC, on a brand new jaw-dropping urban wakeboarding set up built by the folks at PRO AM Productions. Some of the finest east coast wakeboarders were in attendance, eager to grab a piece of the $2500 purse. The top 8 qualified for the finals later on in the evening, in an exciting head to head battle format. Benjamin Leclair took home the honors and won a cool $1000, followed by Yan Thibault, last year WAKE DANS’ RUE defending champion. François-Olivier Jutras came in third and Alex Savoie took fourth. As for the ladies, Ontario’s Kelsey Chiappa drove all the way from Ottawa to claim her first ever WAKE DAN’ RUE title, ahead of two very well known ladies on the series, Marie Line Ouellet and Camelia Barrière.
WAKE DANS’ RUE will be celebrating the Savoroso restaurant 5th anniversary in Sherbrooke on July 7, with the second stop of the 2012 tour.
