TAMPA, FL– On the Fourth of July, it was the Canadians who swept the podium at the boat competition portion of the 2013 Red Bull Wake Open.
The boat portion of the competition, which began Wednesday, concluded in dramatic fashion Thursday morning at the SunWest mines near Tampa, with the top three riders finishing very close in points. Raph Derome placed first, with Aaron Rathy placing second and Rusty Malinoski taking third. This result puts Derome, the overall 2012 Red Bull Wake Open winner, in a strong position to defend his title.
